Abstract
•A Utopian point based decomposition method is proposed under the framework of MOEA/D algorithm.•It is an efficient way of enhancing the performance of MOEA/D on MOPs with irregularly shaped PFs.•The proposed MOEA/D-UP is less sensitive to the PF shape of the target MOPs.
