CSMA/CA adopted for IVC essentially has a hidden station problem in which transmitted frames collide because a station cannot sense the frame from another one. The decentralized TDMA can reduce frame collision caused by the hidden station problem. There is room for comparative studies between CSMA/CA based on ARIB STD-T109 and the decentralized TDMA. In this paper, we compare performances of CSMA/CA with those of the decentralized TDMA in the hidden station environment by computer simulations. From the simulation results, we show that the decentralized TDMA outperforms CSMA/CA although the decentralized TDMA causes a constant delay time. |
