This paper proposes a support system in care facilities for elderly people. The purpose of the system is to monitor the elderly to avoid accidents from happening, and alleviate the burden of caregivers. Also, the system does not use cameras to monitor in order to the privacy of the elderly. Based on the research about the situation of care facilities, the system detects the falls and wanders, which are the main causes of accidents. The hetero-core spliced optical fiber sensors and the RFID sensor tags are used to detect abnormal behaviors of the elderly people. REID sensor tags are set at various points in the living area to collect a large amount of data, which is analyzed to monitor the elderly. Also optical fiber sensors are used to find out falling. The falling information is transmitted via SNMP, and a cleaning robot confirm the accident to reduce misdirection. |
