Title
"Private And Secure Icmp Message" Solution For Ip Traceback In Wireless Mesh Network
Abstract
IP spoofing attacks create big problems in terms of security in Wireless Mesh Networks IEEE 802.11s (WMNs). These attacks are accounted to be sent from infected hosts. In order to avoid these threats, IP traceback mechanisms are considered the main challenges to realize such a forensic analysis of the Internet traffic and to permit an elegantly tracing back to the correct source. In this paper, we present our novel approach of IP traceback. In fact, our solution is founded on the marking approach to trace proactively the source of spoofed packets in WMN; it uses a private and secure ICMP message to register the whole trace of the attack path. For validation objectives, we implemented our solution using the network simulator NS3 to test the performance and the efficiency of our proposed scheme cling to some collected evaluation metrics. The results prove that the attack path will be accurately constructed by means of our novel solution which achieves the purpose of traceability of the attack source.
