Title
Free vibration analysis of elastic structures submerged in an infinite or semi-infinite fluid domain by means of a coupled FE-BE solver.
Abstract
•An FE-BE solver is developed for the free vibration analysis of structures submerged in an infinite or semi-infinite fluid domain.•The compressibility of the fluid is taken into account.•The resulting nonlinear eigenvalue problem is converted into a small linear one by using a contour integral method.•Adequate modifications are suggested to improve the contour integral method.•The Burton–Miller method is employed to identify and filter out the fictitious eigenfrequencies.
