JET: Joint source and channel coding for error resilient virtual reality video wireless transmission.
Abstract
•Error resilient VR video transmission is studied and formulated into a source and channel coding optimization problem.•The title partition, quantization parameter for the VR video encoding and source/channel packets are jointly optimized towards the largest received video quality.•Unequal error protection is used to protect the tiles of FoV and other tiles differently.•Low complexity heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve this optimization problem.
