---|---|---|
•One of the most well-known complexity measures is the multiscale entropy (MSE).•MSE exists for signals only (1D data). We extend MSE to images (2D case: MSE2D).•A variant of MSE2D is also proposed (ModMSE2D).•We show that MSE2D and ModMSE2D are powerful tools for image texture evaluation.•MSE2D is faster than ModMSE2D, but ModMSE2D is more robust to small image sizes. |
