Abstract
•The dynamic optimization objectives are designed to reflect the complex dynamics of WWTP by the data-driven method.•An improved multiobjective particle swarm optimization algorithm is developed to minimize all of the optimization objectives.•An adaptive fuzzy neural network controller is developed to trace the optimal set-points.
