Abstract
•We document the crime reducing impact of a real estate driven intervention.•Evaluation of the intervention's impact anchored on community operational research.•The real-estate driven initiative was implemented with engagement from community.•Collective efficacy was key in achieving low deterrence decay of the intervention.•Initiative associated with 49% fall in residential crime over a five year period.
