Title
Robust optimization approaches for the equitable and effective distribution of donated food.
Abstract
•Food banks aim to achieve equitable and effective distribution of food donations.•High levels of capacity uncertainty affect food banks’ daily operations.•We formulated robust optimization models and proved their structural properties.•We developed easily-implementable, exact solution algorithms for the robust models.•We used real-life data from our collaborating food bank to illustrate our results.
