Title
Uniform representation and control of Bluetooth Low Energy devices in home automation software
Abstract
Dissimilarity between Bluetooth Low Energy based devices limits a number of devices that can be added to a home automation system to a particular brand. This paper presents a new method which enables "brand-free plug-n-play" deployment of smart devices. The method is based on novel approach to home manager concepts of services and properties, and design of adaption mechanism layer. The method is integrated, tested, and validated in home automation systems using our Bluetooth Low Energy based outlet device and off the shelf device.
