This paper discusses the complementarity of ETSI's NFV MANO and the reference architecture recently published by the OpenFog consortium. Based on this analysis, we propose a converged model, called a Digital IoT Fabric, which brings together the strengths of OpenFog and ETSI MANO architectures, and applies their combined capability to the IoT space. The advantages of the proposed paradigm are outlined through real examples, with special emphasis on showing how a converged architecture can bridge the technological gap between OT and IT. |
