Abstract | ||

A hybrid method by combining probabilistic neural network (PNN) with linear discriminant analysis (LDA) for face recognition is proposed in this paper. At the first place, the LDA method is employed to reduce the dimensions of sample feature, and then a PNN method is adopted for solving the problems of face recognition. The proposed method not only saves computing time of the whole implementation, but also improves computing efficiency and precision of the hybird algorithm. Experimental simulation results indicate that the LDA-PNN method gets a good performance in classification in handling the standard databases. |
