Massive (or large-scale) multi-input multi-output (MIMO), which can further improve the energy efficiency, spectral efficiency and throughput, is expected to be one of the key enabling technologies for the next-generation of wireless communication. However, the complexity of the signal processing increases dramatically with the scale of MIMO system. In this paper, we transform the MIMO detection into minimizing the quadratic function with the use of conjugate gradient (CG) method. Based on the channel hardening behavior in Massive MIMO, a novel biased minimum mean-square error (MMSE) detection is proposed to simply the calculation of bit-wise LLR. Simulation results show that the proposed CG-based detection can achieve near MMSE-theory performance with the complexity reduced to only 30% of the MMSE detection. |
