Title
Beyond residential segregation: A spatiotemporal approach to examining multi-contextual segregation.
Abstract
•We propose a new term, multi-contextual segregation, to define segregation in various space-time contexts in daily life.•We develop a spatiotemporal measure of multi-contextual segregation solving methodological problems in traditional methods.•We visualize the temporal variation in segregation patterns using 3D-GIS techniques.•People experience varying levels of segregation when they move around in urban areas.•Some African Americans are highly segregated in the inner city and inner-ring suburbs both during the daytime and at night.
