Abstract
•A novel approach based on structural co-occurrence matrix is used to classify skin lesions in dermatoscopy images.•An extensive comparative analysis in terms of performance measures is carried out with the conventional approaches.•The proposed methodology is tested with three different datasets to validate the efficiency of the approach.
