•There are no significant studies that provide a guide for the developers of therapeutic system interfaces for attention deficit in children.•Through a reverse engineering process, it is possible to extract patterns from existing mobile applications.•Currently in the market there are no more than 30 applications that support the therapeutic process of attention deficit in children.•Through the patterns extracted from the proposed methodology, an important starting point for the construction of a guide for the design of interfaces for the attention deficit in children is defined. |
