Visible light communication at 50 Mbit/s using a red LED and an SPAD receiver
Abstract
Visible light communication (VLC) is demonstrated at 50 Mbit/s using a 4-SPAD array receiver and a resonant-cavity-LED transmitter in a line-of-sight optical link configuration up to 5 m of transmitting distance for a bit-error ratio below 2•10 <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">−3</sup> . Background light up to 2000 lux can be tolerated.
