On the placement of controllers in software-Defined-WAN using meta-heuristic approach.
Abstract
•Proposed work minimizes average controller to node and inter-controller latency.•Two meta-heuristic techniques named as CPP-PSO and CPP-FFA is proposed to solve the CPP on a real topology.•Proposed method shows the optimal locations of the controllers in the network topology.•To measure the performance, ADR metric is proposed to measure the delay of back-up path.•Finally, we compare the number of affected switches due to link failure with other backup approaches.
