Through a user-centered design approach, we explored how a robotic agent can be designed to support students practicing Swedish at home and in class. The process started with design workshops and user-feedback that helped to create a cardboard prototype of a language companion robotic agent. The prototype was used in semi-structured interviews where eight participants created scenarios on how to use the agent, both at home and in a classroom. Our result presents design impressions for a language companion robotic agent categorized into embodiment, emotions, dialogue, and personality. The findings also suggest tasks for the agent at home and in a classroom. |
