3D-GM-MAC with a Controlled Mobile Sink for AD-HOC WSN
Abstract
One of the keywords in the information society is data. Data are the resources of technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, Internet of things (IoT), etc. Also, to collect the data via the wireless connection, a lot of Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols have been proposed. Additionally, with the advances in the technologies, boundary of the nodes has largened. The main expansion is that the nodes, as well as sinks, now have mobility. Furthermore, as the nodes are deployed in the air or submarine environment, the height of each node is meaningfully different. 3-dimensional group management MAC protocol is a MAC protocol designed for the network with this new type of sensor nodes, which have mobility and are deployed in 3-dimensional environment. However, it still has some problems caused by the randomness of the sink mobility. In this paper, we propose the 3-dimensional group management MAC protocol with a controlled mobile sink.
