Title
On Defensive Cyber Deception: A Case Study Using Sdn
Abstract
In this paper, we discuss using defensive cyber deception to enhance the security and dependability of network systems. We argue that existing honey-* technologies require additional underlying support to implement more effective cyber deception. We enumerate the requirements for effective cyber deception and identify promising approaches and metrics for evaluation. We describe our current research that explores the use of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies to deploy cyber deception in an enterprise network setting, discuss the challenges encountered and approaches considered to address these challenges, and provide directions for future work.
