This paper investigates a new method of signal to noise ratio (SNR) estimation for wireless communication. Our method is implemented on a preamble of the Wireless Smart Utility Network (Wi-SUN) standard, IEEE 802.15.4g MR-OFDM, and over frequency selective fading channels. Simulation results show that the proposed method is robust to frequency selectivity with a performance considerably improved compared to the two existing SNR estimators, Boumard estimator and Ren estimator, with a minimum of computational complexity. For a given SNR value, the proposed method performs a gain of 2dB compared to Ren estimator. |
