Title
Acoustic Contamination and its Effects on the Heart Rate and Mood
Abstract
Noise pollution is becoming a serious health problem, but it is not yet universally accepted, recent studies link mood and cognition in a negative way. We developed a register electrocardiogram system for subsequent analysis in correlation with heart rate variation before and after undergoing noise pollution and the correlation between this and mood state. Results showed that exposure to noise pollution induce an increase heart rate by 4% and a significant correlation between mood and change in heart rate.
