Abstract | ||
---|---|---|
•The modeling and the behavior of a quarter-car model with asymmetrical viscous damping under harmonic excitation is presented.•The response is obtained with an analytical approximation via the method of Harmonic Balance.•The asymmetrical damping proves more advantageous at higher frequencies with β > 1.•Although systems with asymmetrical damping usually adopt β > 1, it is shown in this work that, for lower frequencies, β < 1 results in better comfort. |
