Title
A model and evaluation method of learning motivation in the education and training of professional engineers
Abstract
The automotive industry, including DENSO CORPORATION, needs to educate and train professional engineers who can cope with changes undergoing in the recent business environments. We also aim at fostering self-motivating ability for professional engineers in education and training curriculums. However, fostering and evaluating the motivation are difficult. This paper proposes a learning model and its evaluation method of a motivational education curriculum for professional engineers. We structured the learning model based on a model for motivational design, and applied the model to prototype courses. To improve self-training ability of trainees, we introduced a pre-learning program. We conducted a survey to the trainees, and evaluated the improvement of their learning motivation during the education and training course.
