Low-loss splice of large effective area fiber using fluorine-doped cladding standard effective area fiber
Abstract
Ultra-low dissimilar splice loss of 0.08dB between Aeff-enlarged fiber (148μm <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup> ) and standard Aeff fiber (83μm <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup> ) was realized, by applying a ring core profile to Aeff-enlarged fiber and fluorine doped cladding to standard Aeff fiber.
