A heuristic task scheduling algorithm based on server power efficiency model in cloud environments
Abstract
•This paper presents a power efficiency model for cloud servers to explore server power efficiency to guide task scheduling.•The power model and performance model are combined into the proposed power efficiency model to express the power efficiency of a server.•This paper proposes a heuristic task scheduling algorithm for optimizing cloud energy consumption based on the power efficiency model.•Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is the most energy-efficient without violating the resource requirements of cloud task.
