Title
Analytical modelling of a parametrized switched reluctance motor with adapting flux tube method
Abstract
This paper develops an analytical model of a parametrized Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM). The method of magnetic equivalent circuit is used to calculate the nonlinear magnetization characteristic and torque behavior of the SRM. The airgap is described with flux tubes of different shape. The shape of the flux tubes is adapted depending on the rotor position. The model considers the magnetic saturation of iron. Therefore the Flux Ratio Criterion (FRC) method is applied to determine the cross section of reluctance elements in saturated regions. This newly developed analytical model is valid for different geometry parameters, so that it can be used for motor optimization. The analytical results are compared with simulation results of Finite Element Method (FEM).
