Design considerations of coil geometries in bidirectional wireless power transfer systems |

In this paper we present a generalized geometry and design analysis to filter out the most salient parameters that have influence on the magnetic coupling coefficient and lead to a design which is more tolerant towards misalignment, such that it provides an auxiliary guiding role in system design. A parameter correlation and sensitivity analysis are performed in order to simplify the model by eliminating the variables that are less significant with regards to achieving a more tolerant design to misalignment with a higher coupling coefficient. The study is done using finite element methods, ANSYS Workbench. Analysis results and design recommendations to support decision making are obtained. |
