Title
Data analysis of expressway under single point accident based on dynamic speed control
Abstract
Expressways serve continuous traffic flow, while single-point traffic accidents have a greater impact on traffic efficiency and safety. The vehicle in single-point incident occupies a certain lane, and the accident road forms a traffic bottleneck, which reduced the actual traffic capacity of the road section, resulting in an increase in the delay of vehicles and queue lengths in the accident section. In order to research the impact of single-point traffic accident on the traffic flow of a freeway, a single point traffic accident model of the main line segment of the expressway was established by VISSIM simulation software. The temporal and spatial evolution process of traffic flow in traffic accident section under different traffic backgrounds were analyzed, and dynamic speed control was further performed. The results of the research show that after an accident on the expressway, the higher the amount of upstream traffic, the longer the duration of the accident, and the greater the time and spatial extent of the impact. In addition, the utility under the medium and low flow conditions are better based on the dynamic speed control of the road section.
