Title
A study on read-back signal generation modeling for shingled-write magnetic recording from experimental results.
Abstract
This paper proposes a signal generation model that can work easily in a general computer simulation environment for consideration of a shingled-write magnetic recording system. Our proposal is modeled based on some properties of actual read-back waveforms derived by a spin-stand experiment emulating the shingled-writing situation. By comparisons between the properties of the experimental result and the waveform generated by our proposed model, we show that the proposed signal generation model can reproduce a read-back waveform whose characteristics are similar to those of the actual signal in the SWR environment.
