•This study focuses on the quantitative transit consolidation problem with multiple OD flows.•The proposed algorithm can automatically gain the effective solution of computational resource.•Our approach is used to estimate two important parameters of transit consolidation model.•Tonnage utilization is computed in the contrast experiment.
