The growing popularity of smart mobile devices has not only triggered an exponential increase in mobile data traffic, but also boosted the computation demands and requirements to an unprecedented level. Meanwhile, the next generation wireless networks, i.e., 5G networks, are envisioned to provide richer user experience and diversified mobile applications, which calls for more intensive computation at mobile devices. Therefore, the concept of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) has been recently introduced as a means to bring cloud computing capabilities at the mobile network edge. |
