Under the uncertainty of the crop price, a stochastic optimal model is developed for the carbon sequestration by afforestation investment in the agriculture land, from which a complementarity problem is obtained and solved by the penalty method. By comprehensively considering environments, climate and other factors, the carbon stock in the biomass, soil, products, and bioenergy are simulated through the CO2FIX software by planting the pine and oak stands in the northeast of China. In addition, the empirical application and the numerical solution are carried out. Also, the optimal investment time and the strategy of carbon sequestration by afforestation are analyzed to provide the assistance for the decision maker. Finally, the key details of the numerical implementation are highlighted. |
