Title
How well do global burned area products represent fire patterns in the Brazilian Savannas biome? An accuracy assessment of the MCD64 collections.
Abstract
•There is a well-defined north-south gradient regarding MCD64 accuracy in Cerrado.•Errors are higher over the south due to the fragmented pattern of cropland scars.•Burnt areas in the north have larger and contiguous patterns, favoring detection.•MCD64 C6 and C5.1 detections were similar in location albeit divergent in magnitude.•MCD64 C6 detects more BA than C5.1, showing a better performance in small scars.
