Abstract
The use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Automation Technology has become an essential part. As a result the high requirements of flexibility, quality and better reliability of automation components must be taken into account. The use of the ICT takes place in of almost all phases of the life cycle of an asset. Digitization and the concept of the "Smart Factory" are an unbroken trend. The digitalization of physical objects and processes creates a Cyber Physical System (CPS). The essential feature of such a system is that CPS can be connected to each other via the Internet of Things (IoT). CPS intercat, cooperate and work together. To do this, the CPS must provide semantically unambiguous information on their interfaces. The modeling of the meanings of data, i. e. the description of assets and their functions in a machine readable way is one of the current challenges. In this article, the concept of the use of the standardised properies for the exchange of information between CPS is introduced. It is shown how by describing of properties with a standardized data model the robustness and flexibility of interaction between the interaction partners can be increased.
