A glass-cladding crystal scintillation optical fibers (GCSFs) was fabricated using the modified rod-in-tube (M-RID) method. GCSF samples were placed in a high temperature furnace and then annealed from 500 to 1300 °C in air atmosphere. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra and Raman spectra of samples were measured. The inter-diffusion of Ce

in GCSF by annealing from 700 to 1100 °C is observed showing distinct response with laser excitation at 532, 633 785 nm laser respectively. The luminescence properties of GCSF indicate promising potential applications in remote radiative environment monitoring and in radiotherapy. |
