Title
Spectral Efficiency of Wireless Body Area Networks Coexistence
Abstract
Wireless body area networks (WBANs) become an emerging technology which has grown considerably in recent years. In many cases, several WBANs coexist in a small area, resulting in very strong interference, which seriously degrades performance of WBANs communications and increases energy consumption. The spectral efficiency and energy efficiency are utilized as key parameters of network performance. Efficient coexistence of IEEE802.15.4-based WBANs in the ISM band is a challenging problem. This paper characterizes the performance of coexistence issues of WBANs using stochastic geometry. The objective of this paper is to minimize the total number of channels to decrease interferences to maximize the spatial efficiency.
