Title
A Study on Adopting Smart Payment System
Abstract
This is a preliminary study on the issues which relate to the technology adoption of virtual currency systems. Recently, the use of electronic forms of payments and financing have been increasing rapidly as the technology such as a smartcard, a biometric, a 2D optical code, and so on, have gained more sophistication with the ubiquitous usage of smartphones. Furthermore, the virtual currency systems such as blockchain crypto-currency are expected to accelerate the use of mobile payment services involving more users who were not early adopters of these smart technologies. This preliminary study investigates the potential user's behaviors in the adoption of the Smart Payment System (SPS). By asking questions of the Big-Five personality traits together with the questions of the Technology Acceptance Model to Japanese university students, 102 responses were collected. This study is a research-in-progress using Smart PLS-SEM about the adoption mechanism of SPS utilizing the data mentioned above.
