Title
A new fuzzy/evidential approach to address the area coverage problem in mobile wireless sensor networks.
Abstract
Imperfection may affect the real world application performance in wireless sensor domain. Therefore, in this article, positions, communication and monitoring radii, as well as energy reserve are, in this article, considered as an uncertain criteria and sensor nodes as information sources. The combination of these uncertain criteria by Dempster-Shafer operation selects the most efficient node for covering each geographical subarea. The problem is how to define the mass function. This paper proposes a fuzzy / evidence model to initialize mass function in the Evidence Theory. Comparing our proposed model, called FDCDAC, with two basic protocols from the literature (the OGCD and TGJD protocols) and with the new protocol FPCOA, shows a better performance and a slight improvement.
