•Region feature extraction which fully utilize the diseases information of different waves is proposed.•This work is the first inter-patient research for specific types of arrhythmia.•An ensemble classifier fusing four different base classifiers is constructed.•A new division scheme of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database balancing all the categories in training and test set is introduced. |
