Abstract
•To address the problem of the complex range history, an improved range model is proposed.•The phase error caused by the range model is analyzed in the paper.•A two-step imaging algorithm is proposed in this paper.•The range-dependent phase errors are precisely compensated by the modified Omega-K imaging algorithm.
