•Two-stage stochastic MILP model is formulated for the MSW supply chain network.•Uncertainty in the model parameter are the supply-demand, and product sale price.•A minimax regret model is considered to analyze the financial risk.•A decomposition algorithm is found effective to solve an MSW treatment case study.
