Recently, Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) have appeared as an important and flexible electric load that attracts much attention. This paper presents an optimal charge/ discharge power management algorithm for PEV in smart residential place considering smart grid technology. The main contribution of this work is to manage the power flow between PEV and smart home in order to enhance the energy efficiency and to reduce stress of the smart grid. The proposed strategy aims to determine the reference power of PEV connected at home in order to be absorbed from the studied home which is supplied from the electrical grid during the off-peak hours (home-to-vehicle) or to be injected to home and evenly to the grid during peak hours (vehicle-to-home), ensuring consequently a flatten power load curve. The simulation results are illustrated and discussed in order to validate the control strategy for typical one day cycle. |
