•Elastoplastic model was built for stress analysis during cooling and bending process.•Residual stress decreases and then increases with the increase of TiNp content.•Experimentally determined joint strength compares favorably with the FE results.•Effect of brazing seam and reaction layer thickness on joint strength was predicted. |
