Simulation of spiral wave superseding in the Luo-Rudy anisotropic model of cardiac tissue with circular-shaped fibres. |

•Anisotropy with circular-shaped fibres does not much affect LVCD effectiveness.•Circular fibres cause spontaneous drift along their lengths.•The studied anisotropy represents real atrial anisotropy and similar studies should be performed on more realistic geometries.•Discordant alternans is found to be a cause of break-up in the Luo–Rudy cardiac tissue model. |
