Title
Development of a PID Control Law for an ON/OFF Actuator with Operating Signal Saturation
Abstract
This article proposes a digital PID for an evaporative cooling system in a poultry house. The controller is utilized to minimize the house weather errors in terms of temperature and humidity. This study was achieved the experiment under tropical condition, in Lopburi, Thailand. Thermal dynamics model of the poultry house was derived from physical properties of the actual plant [1] that was utilized in experimental simulation of this study. The simulation was conducted under the local hot and humid climate condition with fluctuation of temperature and the relative humidity of ambient temperature around the experiment house. Adaptive particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques have been applied to adjust control gain for error attenuation in tracking of the temperature and humidity inside the controlled house. Results show that the proposed control system is quite more effective within the temperature monitoring whereas compared to the traditional controllers. Consequently, the proposed control system also works as a better tracking of humidity than the traditional one.
