This paper presents a summary of research and development on the high performance active electronically scanned array (AESA) antenna capable of mounting on small/medium-sized airplanes such as regional jets. We have developed a Ka-band 16-element transmitting evaluation array antenna and conducted a measurement experiment of the Ka-band propagation and attitude of airplane using an actual airplane as a first step of the realization. This paper also refers to the results of some evaluations and the experiment. |
