Title
Nonlinear Design of Time-Modulated Array for Medium Power Multisine Wireless Power Transfer
Abstract
This contribution discusses the power handling issues related to the effective exploitation of time-modulated arrays (TMA) for multi-sine wireless power transmission (WPT), in the UHF band. It is shown that the co-design of the antenna array and of the nonlinear feeding network is a mandatory procedure during which both the slow modulation switching regime and the fast RF regime need to be simultaneously accounted for. The resulting final topology has to be determined as the best compromise between the on- and the off-states switches conditions. We also discuss the rules to select the proper device for switching operations over a wide range of power levels. Finally the performances are provided in terms of the far-field behavior of the entire TMA designed for multi-sine WPT.
